Nothing is more frustrating than all of the time and money we spend in our gardens and to have them eaten to nubs by those 4 legged critters.  Surveys have claimed that deer populations have exploded in recent years, due to lake of natural predators.  I have researched many times to find deer resistant plants, and in my conclusion, when deer are hungry they will eat anything.  Particularly if it is a longer winter than usual, they are going to eat whatever they can get their mouth on.  Some plants that are so called 'resistant' may be:

-toxic plants - the smell and taste can make them unappealing

- Fragrant or aromatic plants - they do not like strong odors.

 - Fuzzy leaves

- prickly leaves & stems

-ornamental grasses - their teeth cant chew these properly
