Drought Tolerant Perennial Gardens

With global warming and changing weather patterns drought tolerant plants are becoming more and more common in the landscape.  Xeriscaping meaning dry gardening is a technique that uses plants that tolerate limited water.  Grouping plants together with similar characteristics is a must in your garden.  Plants cope with drought in evolving from drought areas.  Silver or grey foliage reflects sunlight and helps them cool dowm   Hairy leaves cuts down the wind on the surface and reducing evapration.   Waxy and succulent leaves keeps moisture inside the tissues.

Cover the soil surface with mulch.  As I have mentioned in previous blogs, MULCH IS KEY, and provides so many advantages to plants and the soil.
