Westcoast Colours - Vancouver Garden Design Inspiration

A recent trip to Mayne Island, B.C. opened my eyes to the wealth of colour we can include in a truly westcoast palette. Knowing our geographical colours allows us to create spaces that fit perfectly within the natural world. This is really important in a natural environment where we want to introduce our living spaces but want to maintain the beauty by working with it not against it. Colour selection is one simple way to integrate new elements into an existing environment that will fit in visually.

The range of colours run from the familiar to the exotic in tones of saffron, chartreuse, salmon, slate grey, bone and steel blue. These colours look rich and true even in the low light conditions we commonly find on the West Coast.

Shells, seaweed and westcoast treasures show colours of green, purple, saffron, blue and orange.
