Planting Time
It is the perfect time for planting the garden that you have been planning all winter with the help of your local garden designer in Vancouver. If you are doing the work yourself, head out to a local garden centre to pick up the freshest plants from your plant list. The stock is rolling in day by day from the nurseries so you will have plenty of material to choose from. Fruit trees, shrubs, hedge plants, perennials and annuals are all in good supply right now and it is the right time to plant them. The soil is warming up, the daylight is lengthening and there is plenty of moisture in the soil to get your plants off to a good start.
If your planters are looking a little tired you can spruce them up with bright coloured primroses or Ranunculus. Potted flowering bulbs can be slotted into a container easily so grap some sweet little tulips or daffodills to spread some cheer at your front door. Many hellebores are still flowering so enjoy them while they last and get them when in flower so you can be sure of the exact colour. Evergreen shrubs make great permanent statements in your planter that will last all year so consider planting a camellia or a rhododendron to enjoy the flower immediately and the leaves all year long.
