Wellness Vancouver - Edible Landscaping

Vancouverites has been alive and well for years and took this weekend to showcase their "wellness" at Canada Place for the 18th Annual Wellness Show.

Vancouver Home And Garden Show 2010

This year the usually big Home and Garden Show has been seriously downsized to fit into Park Royal shopping centre in West Vancouver for the weekend of April 17 & 18th. Renovate, decorate, landscape and shop are still the taglines for the small show. There are speakers and ask an expert booths so probably worth checking out if you are looking for some tips or to connect with a supplier.

Grow Edibles On Your Balcony In Vancouver

It is so easy and incredibly rewarding to grow something to add to your supper right outside on your own little balcony space. You can get as elaborate as your space and time allows and grow a whole range of yummy things or simply add a herb planter to enhance the flavour to your meals.

Vancouver Gardeners Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day is a day to act positively in support of our generous host, planet earth. Here in Vancouver we have a lot to be thankful for and have many opportunities to give back. There are numerous educational and fun activities planned in neighbourhoods throughout the city to mark this Earth Day as an important day that I encourage you to participate in.

Spring Gardens In Vancouver

Well it is officially here, Spring in Vancouver. Look out for fresher air, more flowers, the sound of lawnmowers, the smell of grass clippings, bicyclists, garage sales and trips to the garden centre. All good signs that winter is well and truly behind us and we can seriously start to look forward to the growing season ahead of us.

Vancouver Landscape Trees

Trees in the Vancouver landscape give each neighbourhood a distinct flavour. In older residential areas of Vancouver we see huge street trees lining the roadways, creating  green tunnels to drive or bicycle through. In areas of more recent development we see new trees planted and residents wait in anticipation for them to grow and help establish their neighbourhood's landscape.
